On
October 9,
CaixaForum Macaya will host the session “
With Our Feet on the Ground: Space Technologies That Improve Our Daily Lives.” A must-attend event featuring voices that are bringing space closer to today’s most pressing challenges.
Among them is
Estel Blay,
program manager at the IEEC and
commander of the Hypatia III mission, an international project led by women that simulates a Mars stay from the Utah desert. Her participation connects us with the future of space exploration through an inclusive, scientific, and deeply transformative lens.
Also joining is
Urska Starc, a
global reference in the use of satellite data for sustainable tourism. From Slovenia, she
leads the Tourism 4.0 initiative and will share how space technology can help cities like Barcelona better manage tourism impact in smarter, more sustainable ways.
The session will also feature
Anna Ruiz, a science communicator with a unique ability to connect with the public, and
Ramon Pastor, president of KIMbcn, who will offer a strategic perspective on innovation with social impact.
Organised in collaboration with
IEEC, the session will explore how space data helps monitor resources, anticipate risks, and respond to climate emergencies. A conversation between Earth and space, for those who want to understand how the future is being built from right here.
