Barcelona will host a new edition of the CASSINI Hackathon from April 24 to 26, a European initiative that promotes the development of innovative solutions based on space technologies. This year’s edition will focus on the Space for Water challenge, aiming to explore how European space data and services can contribute to improving the management of such an essential resource as water.
During the weekend, students, entrepreneurs, researchers, and professionals from different sectors will work in teams to develop ideas and prototypes using technologies such as Copernicus or Galileo to address challenges related to water access, pollution monitoring, and the management of extreme events such as droughts and floods. Participating companies will have the opportunity to connect with emerging talent, identify new technological applications, and explore potential collaborations in an open innovation environment.
The hackathon is part of a European initiative that takes place simultaneously in several cities and aims to promote the use of space technologies in new application domains.
