In August,
Spain's National Security Council approved the updated
National Aerospace Security Strategy, outlining the country’s priorities in securing and protecting both airspace and outer space. For the first time, the strategy explicitly addresses the challenges of increasing civilian, commercial and military activity in space.
The document includes
major developments for both the aeronautics and space sectors. It defines new action lines on
surveillance, technological resilience, space traffic management, and public-private collaboration. It also stresses the need to strengthen Spain’s strategic autonomy in the aerospace domain.
This is a key document, as it highlights areas of future investment and cooperation in dual-use technologies, cybersecurity, and space governance.
