The Spanish Ministry of Defence has presented the Technology and Innovation Strategy for Defence (ETID 2026), a framework aimed at guiding R&D efforts to strengthen technological and industrial capabilities. The strategy responds to an increasingly complex geopolitical environment and the growing role of disruptive technologies in operational contexts. Its main pillars include prioritising investment in key technologies, fostering national and international cooperation, and improving management processes. The document also emphasises the effective transfer of research into real-world applications, aiming to reinforce the Defence Industrial and Technological Base and reduce strategic dependencies.
