Barcelona-based company SLIMOP Space has been awarded the 2026 National Industry Prize “Bien Hecho en España” in the Industrial Entrepreneurship category. The award was presented on 4 February in Bilbao during the National Industry Congress, recognising the company’s technological contribution to the space sector through the development of next-generation ultra-lightweight space telescopes.
The company’s technology is based on ultra-light membrane mirror optical systems, primarily designed for Earth Observation and laser optical communications (Lasercom). Its dual-use approach enables civil, scientific and strategic applications aligned with European priorities in space and technological autonomy.
