Sateliot has opened in Barcelona the first European Development Centre for 5G Satellites, located at the company’s new headquarters in the city centre. The facility is dedicated to the design, development and verification of 5G satellites based on common 3GPP standards for all mobile operators, providing a strategic boost to Europe’s technological autonomy in space-based connectivity. The centre is already hosting the development of Sateliot’s next-generation Tritó satellites, with the first launch planned for 2027, and has created around 50 high-skilled jobs, positioning Catalonia as an international New Space hub.
