Sateliot and Telefónica strengthen space connectivity through a new agreement to deploy 5G technology from space

Sateliot and Telefónica have announced a new strategic agreement to advance the deployment of 5G connectivity based on low Earth orbit satellites. The partnership marks another step forward in the development of hybrid telecommunications solutions capable of extending coverage to areas without terrestrial connectivity, particularly in strategic sectors such as logistics, critical infrastructure, agriculture and emergency management.
 

The agreement will integrate Sateliot’s satellite network with Telefónica’s infrastructure, enabling interoperability between terrestrial and space-based networks through open 5G-IoT standards. This approach will make it possible to provide global massive IoT connectivity services without requiring modifications to existing hardware, a key factor for accelerating technological adoption across multiple industries.
