The Directorate General for International Trade in Defense and Dual-Use Materials, under the Spanish Secretary of State for Trade, will hold an informational session on June 1 focused on recent regulatory developments in export controls for defense-related and dual-use items.
The session will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend either online or in person at Paseo de la Castellana 162, Madrid.
Export controls for defense and dual-use items are a key tool in preventing the proliferation of conventional weapons and weapons of mass destruction. In recent years, this field has undergone significant changes driven by the development of highly sensitive technologies, growing geopolitical instability, vulnerabilities in global supply chains, and the increasing need for industrial cooperation within the European Union’s defense sector.
In this context, the Secretary of State for Trade is implementing several regulatory amendments that introduce important updates in the field of export controls. These developments will be presented and discussed during the seminar.
