Indra has reached an agreement to acquire 100% of Wake Engineering, a CPS Group division specialising in the design, development and production of unmanned aerial systems. The transaction, completed this December, is part of Indra’s growth strategy in the defence sector and represents the company’s second acquisition in the drone market in less than six months, following the integration of Aertec’s drone business last July.
Wake Engineering brings technological capabilities related, among others, to vertical take-off and landing systems already integrated into flight-tested prototypes, enabling operations in space-constrained environments or without dedicated infrastructure. These technologies could complement the avionics and mission systems of the Tarsis family of unmanned aerial systems, enhancing capabilities in areas such as intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.
