The i2CAT research centre has officially launched the 6GStarLab during an event held at the Palau de la Generalitat de Catalunya, with the participation of institutional representatives and key players from the telecommunications and space sectors.
The new laboratory focuses on research and experimentation in advanced communication technologies, with particular emphasis on the integration of terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks. It will enable the development and validation of new use cases related to satellite communications and 6G networks, in coordination with European and international initiatives.
The project is part of the UNICO I+D 6G programme and is funded by Spain’s Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and the EU’s NextGenerationEU funds.
