On 16 July, the Parc Mediterrani de la Tecnologia (PMT) in Castelldefels hosted a new edition of the ESA BIC Barcelona Demo Day. The event brought together institutional representatives, NewSpace ecosystem stakeholders, investors, and startups supported by the European Space Agency’s incubation programme in Catalonia.
Throughout the morning, participants had the opportunity to explore highly innovative technological proposals developed within the Catalan ecosystem, in a setting designed to encourage knowledge sharing, strategic connections, and the visibility of space entrepreneurship. The Spanish Space Agency, the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC), ESA Phi-LabNET Spain, and other representatives from the academic, technological, and investment fields took part in the event.
Organised with the support of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and the KIMbcn Foundation, the Demo Day reaffirmed the strategic role of ESA BIC Barcelona as a driving force for technological innovation and a reference point for startups developing space-based applications in Catalonia. The event highlighted the sector’s momentum and its capacity to generate value, employment, and impactful technology transfer.
