The Official College of Commercial Aviation Pilots (COPAC) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at promoting excellence in the training and qualification of future generations of pilots. This initiative is part of the Next Generation of Aviation Professionals (NGAP) program led by ICAO.
The agreement, signed during the Global Implementation Support Symposium 2026, held from April 14 to 16 in Marrakech (Morocco), establishes a strategic collaboration between the two organizations to foster high standards of professional competence in a sector that is key to the future development of aviation, in line with global air traffic growth projections.
Key areas of action outlined in the MoU include the development of joint initiatives to attract talent, the promotion of training programs, participation in working groups and international forums, the exchange of best practices, and cooperation on research projects related to the aviation field.
With an initial duration of five years, the agreement reinforces the commitment of COPAC and ICAO to training highly qualified professionals prepared to address the current and future challenges of the international aviation sector.
