The Government of Catalonia has announced the deployment of eight satellite missions by 2030, a significant step within the Catalonia Space Strategy 2030, aimed at strengthening the region’s technological capabilities and fostering a solid, competitive space sector aligned with its economic and social needs.
The missions will focus primarily on Earth observation and communications, two fast-growing areas with strong potential for application across sectors such as environmental management, agriculture, mobility, urban planning and security.
According to the Government, this initiative seeks to support the consolidation of a diversified space ecosystem with real economic impact, capable of mobilizing talent, driving innovation and facilitating technological transfer to the productive fabric. The planned missions represent a relevant boost to reinforce industrial capabilities and position Catalonia as an active player within the European space landscape.
