The Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities has launched the
Science and Innovation Missions 2025 call, under the
Spanish State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research 2024–2027. It is part of the subprogram
Promoting Collaboration Within and Between Public and Private Sectors, within the
Transfer and Collaboration Programme.
The call funds
pre-competitive R&D projects that tackle
strategic and cross-cutting societal challenges, with a strong focus on
public–private collaboration and
knowledge transfer.
2025 Missions:
- Technological solutions to reduce hospital stays and healthcare burden
- Responsible artificial intelligence
- A connected and secure industry
- Territorial planning for climate risk resilience
- Strategic sovereignty in critical raw materials
- Technological capabilities in security and defence
- Sustainable and decarbonised collective transport
Projects must be led by
business consortia with relevant participation from
research centres, universities or tech institutions. Duration:
3 to 4 years, starting
January 1, 2026. Funded through the
Spanish national budget.
