Santiago Ballesté and Neus Olea, President and Director of AeroS, conducted an institutional visit to the Barcelona-Sabadell Aeroclub alongside Pilar Díaz, the Catalan Government’s delegate in Barcelona, with the aim of gaining first-hand insight into this key hub within Catalonia’s aeronautical ecosystem.
The Barcelona-Sabadell Aeroclub is a fundamental pillar of general aviation and a key driver of activity at Sabadell Airport. Historically, it has played a leading role in advancing aeronautical training, supporting economic activity, and fostering a specialized business ecosystem.
The aeroclub stands out for its role in pilot training, aircraft maintenance activities, and its contribution to raising awareness and attracting young talent. It also serves as an environment where aircraft, technology, innovation, and public-private collaboration come together, positioning it as a benchmark for driving aeronautical talent and activity in the region.
Founded in 1953 and with more than 1,200 active members, the Barcelona-Sabadell Aeroclub is currently the largest aeroclub in Europe.
