AeroS and several of its member companies took part in the II Forum for Peace and Security in Europe, organized by EL PERIÓDICO (Prensa Ibérica) in Barcelona, with the President of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Salvador Illa, a leading event focused on addressing the strategic challenges facing Europe’s defense, security, and technology industries.
The AeroS ecosystem was represented by Joan Martorell, Vice President of AeroS and President of the Defence & Aerospace Taskforce, who shared his views on the evolution of public perception and acceptance of the defense industry in Catalonia over recent years.
Other prominent representatives from AeroS member companies also participated, including Luis Furnells, Executive Chairman of OESIA; Alejandro Cambra, General Manager and CEO of Airbus GeoTech; and Jaume Sanpera, Founder and CEO of Sateliot.
Throughout the forum, participants discussed key issues shaping the future of the sector, including the promotion of technological innovation, the strengthening of European industrial capabilities, and enhanced collaboration between public institutions and private companies to address emerging security and defense challenges.
The participation of AeroS and its member companies highlighted Catalonia’s growing role as a hub for innovation and technological development in the aerospace, defense, and dual-use technology sectors, as well as the ability of its industrial ecosystem to contribute to major European strategic programs.
